Samuel Muhumuza "Sammy" moved to the U.S. from Kampala, Uganda, in 2014 to attend college & work on his passion for worship and music. He moved from Tulsa, OK, to Naples, FL, in 2019 to serve as the Worship Director of Grow Church, a position he loves and cherishes.
In the short three years since he has been in Naples, FL, he has profoundly impacted our church. He has poured himself into his new role and focused on the team's growth not only on a technical level but, most importantly, on a spiritual level. His passion for teaching and instruction has encouraged many people alongside him to serve and use their gifts for God’s glory. He dreams of building up the worship department and equipping musicians to make a global impact.
All of this came to a pause when Sammy's work visa expired, and he was no longer legally able to work in the U.S. Though he continues to serve as much as he can, Sammy is no longer allowed to make a living doing what he loves. In the interim, he has searched many avenues for making money in a way that will not affect his green card application but has not found anything reliable. He is currently waiting for a green card which is expected to take up to 10 months to get approved.
Until then, he is staying faithful that God will send the provision to allow him to continue serving with Grow Church. He knows the trajectory of the Grow Worship team has only just scratched the surface of all that God has planned, and he wishes to continue building on this path.
He also hopes to continue financially supporting his parents in Uganda. His father’s medical condition requires daily medications, which often leaves his parents in tight financial positions. Sammy and his siblings contribute as much as possible to allow his parents to be comfortable. Without the ability to earn a living, Sammy will not be able to aid in supporting his family’s wellness.
Since moving to the U.S., he has only had a couple of opportunities to travel home and see his family.
Sammy has not been home to see his parents since before the beginning of Covid (over 3 years). He recently discovered that his father’s health is declining and is searching for a way to get home to see him while he still can.
When Sam looked into a travel visa, he discovered he would only be granted 30 days to travel at the start of his application being approved. This approval is happening on July 25th, and the clock will start.
In Jesus name, we believe that he will be granted this travel visa on July 25th, and he needs our help!
All the funds raised will go towards helping Sammy bridge the financial gap until he can resume his position at Grow Church and send him home to Uganda to see his father, mother, and many dear family members.
Thank you for your generosity and significant impact on Sammy's life!
Blessings
