My name is Alyce, and I’m a single mom of two. My mom passed away Wednesday, April 22. Her loss left a short-term gap in our finances that I’m working to navigate in the smartest way..

An account we were relying on for immediate expenses has been temporarily locked following her passing, and I am currently waiting for life insurance to be processed. That funding will allow me to fully stabilize everything, but it isn’t available yet. Could be up to two weeks but definitely no sooner than that 1 solid week.

In the meantime, I’m covering urgent bills, household expenses, urgent repairs (we have no AC in the house or the car!) and final responsibilities connected to my mom, while continuing to care for my AuDHD kids. I live with a chronic health condition and am in the process of applying for disability, while also actively seeking work that fits my physical limits. My previous caregiving position ended when my patient passed, and I’ve been caring for my mom since then. I’m ready and actively working to return to employment immediately.

I’ve set the goal at $1,500 to cover immediate expenses and help us through the next couple of weeks until the life insurance is released and I can take over fully again. We truly only need what’s requested to bridge this gap and regain financial stability. Honestly any amount will help so much, $5, $10, I know you’re thinking “in this economy?!” But just whatever you feel comfortable doing
