Help Bridal Party Keep On Touring!
Donation protected
***edit***To Everyone who has donated: Thank you! We are overwhelmed by your incredible support. Between this GoFundMe campaign and private donations, our rental and engine replacement costs have been covered.
Again, thank you. We are feeling the weight of your love and support and we are indebted to you all and beyond. All further donations will go to RAVEN Trust.
Who We Are
Bridal Party is an indie pop five piece from Victoria, BC, Canada. The author of this campaign is Joseph Leroux, our guitarist. We're raising funds for ourselves, to support our self-organized musical touring initiative.
What Happened
Our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan broke down in Ontario on Highway 17, between Bissett Creek and Stonecliffe while en route to Ottawa, Ontario. No one was injured, but our van had to be towed over two hundred kilometres, while remaining members of the band hitch hiked and used transit to arrive at our destination.
What Is Needed
In order for Bridal Party to continue our North American tour, which so far has taken us over 4300km, we need to get our van in working order. A failing oil pump caused our engine to seize and now the entire engine must be replaced. We considered scrapping the vehicle altogether. Unfortunately the time constraints of tour, coupled with the difficulty of ensuring a vehicle outside of the province we live in--as well as the risk associated with buying anything else used without a warranty option--have brought us to the conclusion that engine replacement is the most efficient option. The engine we are purchasing is under warranty, insulating us from similar problems in the near future. This work will take about a week to complete.
In order to perform our immediate dates in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, and NYC, we will need to rent a vehicle. We will also need to travel from NYC to Ottawa in order to return our rental and pick up our repaired vehicle. We will also need to cancel some performances and re-route our tour around circumstance. All fundraising will be spent on our costs, listed in detail below. Any funds raised above our goal will be donated to Raven Trust , an Indigenous rights organization.
Cost Estimate
Engine replacement has been quoted to us at $2666CAD.
Warranty will cost $150CAD.
Van rental will cost about $500CAD
Towing (after BCAA) and bus tickets cost us $320CAD.
Additional fuel and travel costs are estimated at $100
Our emergency expenses are an estimated total of $3736CAD
Any support is beyond appreciated! We recognize that there are many crises, organizations, and folks in the world who need financial support more than we do, and that touring across North America is an immense privilege. Regardless, we cannot easily continue this adventure without outside support. Our need comes from a desire to continue travelling and playing music as Bridal Party. If you share our desire, please consider giving us some support at this difficult time.
