Help Brice and Family Through Recovery

Donation protected
For anyone that has ever come in contact with Brice you know that his personality is contagious. We all like to refer to Brice as “Shrek” but under the many layers of his onion Brice is a man of so much more. The last year has been a challenging year for Brice and his beautiful family. After a minor setback career wise, Brice started experiencing some pain through out his back. Brice being the stubborn Eyerly that he is just thought that he had over worked in the yard, or moved wrong while doing simple daily tasks. In true Brice fashion he took some Advil and moved on with his days. Fast forward to two weeks ago, Brice started experiencing numbness throughout his legs and feet. He put off going to the doctor due to not currently having heath insurance. Along with numbness Brice began to start falling while walking. On Monday 8/20 Brice seen a doctor that sent him to have a MRI. Upon having an MRI they found that he needed to be admitted to the hospital to see an orthopedic doctor. Today on 8/23 Brice went in for his first procedure of two he was suppose to have. After an hour of being back in surgery we were approached by the doctor and told that his blood pressure had dropped and the doctor watching his neurologic function had no signal at all. They decided at that time to not proceed with doing the neck surgery. The doctor told us that they were going to get his blood pressure raised and that they were going to go in later that day and “unzip” him and do both his neck and his back in the same surgery. The doctor was very blunt with us and told us that Brice may not walk again. At around 6pm Brice was taken back to surgery. At ten pm the doctor came out and told us that all went well. His spinal cord had been crushed but they were able to put the hardware in, and his blood pressure was stable. Once he was back to his recovery room he was able to move his toes and lift his heels off the bed. At this time we are very hopeful that Brice will be able to walk. We are not sure if there will be any neurological deficits or not. He will be in the ICU for at lest five days. Anyone that knows my brother knows he does not sit still well at all. Brice has always worked. His wife and daughter are his world. They are going to need all of us to rally around them in this difficult time. Brice will be off work for the foreseeable future and his wife will need to be off as well to help care for him. He is on a long road to recovery but as well all know he will kick butt and take names and will make us all laugh while doing it. This will be tremendous financial burden, as at this time, neither Bryce or Emily will be able to work for the foreseeable future. I know the bills will be coming in and anything to alleviate that burden would be met with gratitude!
