Help Brian's Children Visit Him for Recovery

FOR THE LOVE OF BRIAN”
I’ve never done this before
I’m Tammy, a chosen Mom of Brian. I met Brian at age 11 he hung out with my kids he was Nicole’s younger brother. He became Uncle Brian when Nikki and my son Thomas had my first granddaughter He has been part of the family ever since.
I’m so humbled that I even need to ask for help.
I want to set up a go fund me account to help finance Brian’s children to travel to see him.
I will manage the account and send checks to help with traveling expenses and other expenses necessary for Brian to see his children and Grandchild.

PLEASE SHARE THIS STORY to help raise funds for Brian’s beautiful family to visit.

Brian has two children. Grace is his youngest daughter and Skye, his bird, is his firstborn, whom has also given him his firstborn granddaughter. Grace has been able to see her Dad but not so much since he was moved more than 4 hours away.
Skye has not seen her dad for over 4 months since he left Rochester except through FaceTime and that has been rarely in the recent three months since his move to Aitkin. She has been unable to coordinate a ride since he left Rochester as she does not drive yet. Skye is working on getting her drivers license. Skye goes to school, works a job and takes care of little Ezra.
A thought is if the amount raised is in excess that it could help buy a first car for Skye to travel independently to visit and help her dad with his recovery.
I was recently informed that Grace’s mom’s vehicle is in need of repairs to make their traveling safe.

“FOR THE LOVE OF BRIAN CAIN”

Five months ago Brian likely had a seizure while driving his car just after he seen his young daughter off on the bus to one of her first days of kindergarten.
Brian was in a bad car accident and suffered a severe TBI.
Brian was in a coma for two weeks
He was transferred after the third week in intensive care, from his hometown of Rochester, Mn to a critical care hospital in Minneapolis where he spent the next seven weeks during the early part of his rehabilitative recovery.
The first six months are crucial to have good physical therapy and family help to have the best outcome after a TBI.
Research shows that when family is heavily involved with therapy outcomes are extremely better.

This new placement was now a two or more hour drive for Dani the mom of his youngest daughter to come see him.
They made the trip several times and stayed the weekends with Brian
This was the best therapy for him.
While in mpls I and my mother was fortunate to be by Brian’s side almost every day helping with therapy since the professionals were only scheduled for 20 minutes per day and had just increased to 3 times per day a few days before he was moved.

It was a shock to most of us including the staff at the critical care unit, as Brian was just starting to make good progress, when Brian was suddenly transferred to a nursing home/ rehab facility two more hours north of the cities to Aitkin.

This makes the trip for his children to see him more than 4 hours with stops.

I am aware that a family member already raised money from a go fund me account to help with Brian’s recovery expenses.
These expenses do not include funds for his children to visit
Dani has shouldered the financial responsibility for travel on her own.

I know I’m not a Dr. but From the research I’ve done, and the documentaries I’ve watched, I believe Brian has some form of what you call “locked in syndrome” from a severe TBI
It was only about a week after he came to the critical care unit in mpls that I realized he has all his memories from childhood on up to the accident. He can answer questions with a yes or no using his thumb if asked in a certain manner. I had been working with him during the seven weeks to learn and figure out how to communicate. Brian is growing new pathways in his brain to learn how to move his body in a controlled manner in hopes of walking, talking and eating again.

Could you imagine being “LOCKED IN” begging to use your phone but people can’t hear you.
Could you imagine being “LOCKED IN” and being taken far away from your children and people aren’t hearing your pleas.

Please pray for the family to hear Brian’s plea’s.

Please pray for a miracle for a speedy and full recovery for Brian if it is Gods will.

Please keep Brian and his family in your prayers as they travel these long roads to see him until he gets back to his home town of Rochester.

In the meantime I humbly ask for your thoughts, prayers and financial help anyone is willing to give.
“FOR THE LOVE OF BRIAN CAIN and his CHILDREN”

I just want to put a SHOUT OUT to Grace’s Mom, Dani, for having such a big heart, to give unselfishly, of her time, of the financial burden, and the love and compassion she is so gracefully extending “For the Love of Brian and Grace”
She is also a single mom of two and works to support her family which has been minus the child support funds since Brian’s accident.
Please pray for her strength and health to keep going
Pray for her vehicle to be fixed and to keep running smoothly.
I was recently informed that Dani had to take on a second job which will interfere with the time Grace can see her Dad.
So now my thoughts are to raise enough money to contribute to the monthly expenses so Dani doesn’t have to work the second job to make ends meet while Brian so badly needs them for his recovery.
Social Security has not kicked in at this point we don’t know how long that might take
