Update 7/11/2025: Brianna is on 100 day post transplant. We are being realeased from Birmingham to go home to Mobile on 7/15/25. We will have to drive to Birmingham every other week for clinic visits. The Doctor has weened her off most of her medications, she is still taking an important one for antifungal to prevent infection. Shes doing very well & i know being home will help her tremendously. Im confident that I’ll be able to go back to work the following week.

I want thank everyone from the bottom of my heart that has supported us, prayed for us & been there for us through these past 7 months!! THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE!!!

I am Starla Haney, Brianna’s mother. I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for support as my daughter Brianna has been facing one of the hardest battles of her life. She was diagnosed with AML leukemia on October 26, 2024, shes 16 years old. Our world has been completely turned upside down. She recieved a Bone Marrow Transplant on April 4, 2025. SHE IS IN REMISSION NOW & we are having to live in Birmingham AL for clinic visits every week.

Her first medical bill just arrived from Mobile, and even after insurance, the cost is astronomical. On top of that, her prescription medications alone are nearly $960 per month. Even though I have applied for assistance through provided resources, things are very limited.

As her mom, I’ve had to take time away from work through FMLA to be there for her during weekly clinic visits, manage side effects, and support her emotional well-being. This has made it incredibly difficult to work consistently, and the financial strain is beginning to overwhelm us.
