Hi, my name is Brianna and I am a mother of three young children, ages 3, 2, and 6 months. On March 4th, 2026, I moved into an apartment expecting a safe place for my children. From the first day, nothing worked—there was no hot water, the heat and air conditioning did not work, the windows would not lock, and when it rained, water came into the home. I called the leasing office every day requesting repairs, but no one ever came and nothing was fixed. After being ignored for weeks, I told the leasing manager I would contact the local news because of the conditions. She became upset, hung up on me, and I never heard from her again. No repairs were ever made. Because of this, I started making plans to move out. On April 7th, I left for work, and when I returned on April 10th, everything we owned was gone. The apartment had been completely cleared out with no notice. This was not an eviction. This was an illegal disposal of my property. They took everything me and my kids had—cash, all of our clothes and shoes, our beds, and even my children’s Social Security cards and birth certificates. Valuable items were taken, and the rest was left behind or thrown away. Me and my children were left with nothing but the clothes on our backs. When I went to the rental office to confront them, the maintenance man told me that nobody was at work except him and claimed that no one had been in my apartment. I was also told that the cameras on the property were not working.

The funds from this fundraiser will help me replace all of my children’s clothes, shoes, and toys, cover court and lawyer fees for the lawsuit I am trying to file, and help me continue paying for daycare while I work.
