Help Brianna find her words. (Aphasia Therapy)
Donation protected
My (beautiful, smart, young) sister, Brianna (Haas) Kuelz suffered a catastrophic aneurysm/stroke in July, 2022 leaving her with significant physical paralysis/deficits on her right side, but even worse, the frustrating diagnosis of Brocca’s/expressive aphasia, or the loss of her words. (Watching one of the sharpest, most articulate, and funniest humans I’ve ever known become effectively “trapped” in her communication has been nothing short of heartbreaking.)
She has been working extremely hard on regaining her mobility and her communication, and we are dedicating our fullest efforts to providing her with every resource to do so. (There is much emphasis placed on what can be regained in the first 12 months.)
Enter our next adventure: a 4-week, full-time speech therapy/aphasia recovery program in Florida. The cost of this program (+travel and lodging) will set our family back about $30K. While we are committed to the endeavor despite the expense, we have decided it is time to ask for some support from our friends and family. If you are able to contribute or share, your support is greatly appreciated.
