Brianna Nicole Williams, my firstborn daughter, was born on January 29, 1991. She is a very private person, but as her mother, I feel compelled to share her story and ask for help. Lupus is destroying my daughter's life—she can't work, she's losing her hair and teeth, and she needs both a kidney transplant and spinal surgery. This year has been especially hard, as Brianna lost both her father and her grandmother. For the past two years, we have been fighting with social security to get her the support she needs, but the process has been long and difficult.
I am not well myself, but I took on a job to try to help her husband with the bills and to make sure my two beautiful grandchildren never go without. They are too young to fully understand what is happening, and it breaks my heart to see them worry. Health insurance is very expensive, and meeting the deductible for Brianna's surgeries is a huge challenge. If I could, I would trade my life for hers, but it doesn't work that way. I pray every day that I don't get that phone call telling me my daughter has passed. I have already lost one child, and the pain nearly killed me. No parent should outlive their children, and I pray to God every day to spare my daughter's life.
The funds raised will go toward our house note, food, basic needs, medical bills, insurance to meet her deductible so she can have her surgeries, dental care, and the medications she needs. Please, I am asking you to open your heart and help. Sometimes you have to put your pride aside and ask for help. My daughter doesn't have the strength to ask, so I am asking for her. Any support you can give will mean the world to our family and help us keep Brianna with us.
