Help Briana Get a New Accessible Van
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Briana. I have Cerebral Palsy and need a modified van because I'm in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford one on my own. I am looking for support from family, friends, and my community, to raise money for a new van.
My current van needs so many repairs, I can't even pass a state inspection. I need tires, tire sensors, 2 new keys, and an emissions repair. The lift and the door on the lift side is broken so I have to be bumped in and out of the opposite door. The headlight housing is leaking and I was told that could cause an electrical issue. The metal is rusted and rotted in areas. So the steps for a driver and passenger cannot be used or they fall off. It currently needs over $10k in repairs and it's almost 13 years old. I've had several of these issues fixed. The door, lift, and emissions leak have been worked on multiple times. I also replaced the transmission. Over the past couple years, with the help of family, friends, and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, I have put thousands into this car. Every time we fix one thing, something else breaks!!
It's a major hardship being without a vehicle. It's not like I can call an Uber or have a friend drive me somewhere. So every time my van needs to go in to be fixed, I have to ask multiple people for help getting it to the shop. Also, I feel like a prisoner the entire time I'm without my van.
It's time for a new one!! And I'm asking you to please, please, please, help me reach my goal!!
Thank you for anything you can give. Even sharing my fundraiser is helpful. ❤️
