Help Brian with his rehab and medical expenses

This past fall, Brian Davis, a community leader in Far Rockaway NY, experienced a major health crisis and needs our help.

In September, Brian received a tragic diagnosis which required him to have emergency surgery to amputate his right foot up to the knee. After the surgery and release from the hospital, Brian entered a rehabilitation facility to receive physical and occupational therapies to aid in his recovery and adjustment to this life-altering change. His living expenses for two months were approximately $24,000. Following several weeks in the rehab facility, Brian was sent home without handicap accessibility modifications and only a wheelchair to assist with his mobility. Brian is also no longer able to drive without the required vehicle modifications for amputees, primarily hand controls.

Despite this monumental setback, Brian persevered and in December completed the requirements for graduation from York College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications Technology. He is set to graduate in May 2024. Therefore, we created this GoFundMe account for Brian to not only assist him with acquiring everything he needs to live and take care of himself as independently as possible and paying for any out-of-pocket medical bills and expenses, but to congratulate him for achieving his educational goal under such dire circumstances.

Brian has a passion for community engagement and youth development. As the Program Director at the Beach 41st Cornerstone Community Center, under the Child Center of NY, Brian has dedicated himself to designing and implementing innovative after-school and summer camp programs for over 20 years. He is known for his commitment to providing enriching experiences for children and empowering them through education and mentorship. In his role, Brian's responsibilities go beyond traditional program management. He thrives in creating opportunities for middle school students to volunteer, fostering a sense of responsibility and community engagement. Brian is a collaborative force, frequently partnering with community stakeholders, including school principals, parents/guardians, and other community- based organizations such as the 101 Precinct to ensure a comprehensive approach to youth development.

Outside of his professional career, Brian is deeply involved in community-based initiatives. His vast experience in event planning has been invaluable, particularly in organizing health fairs, listening parties, job fairs, and other community events. He is also the co-creator of the annual "Break Every Chain: A Move Meant for Change" initiative in conjunction with the New York City Police Department, further emphasizing his dedication to community transformation. Brian Davis is not just a community leader; he is a board member of the 101st Precinct Community Council and a visionary entrepreneur, as the owner of POSE360 Entertainment LLC. With a career marked by community impact and innovation, Brian is an inspiration to those who seek to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

We hope you will join us in giving back to Brian Davis, a community leader who personifies unselfish servant leadership and has consistently given of himself for the betterment of the Far Rockaway community and most importantly its people. We appreciate all of your support.
