Update from Brian :
Thank you all so much for your kindness and generosity. Kristin and I are overwhelmed with the amount of support we have received from our family and friends. Your donations and well wishes have helped immensely in this difficult time. We also hope this creates awareness for this debilitating disorder. Thank you so much!!
Hi everyone, we are fundraising for my brother Brian. He was diagnosed this past summer with Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND). FND is a rare condition in which there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system. The brain is unable to send and receive signals properly and it can be debilitating for those affected. There are a multitude of symptoms that vary by person but can include: tremors, temporary paralysis, difficulty walking without assistance, insomnia, involuntary movements, non epileptic seizures, cognitive changes, speech problems, sensory changes, migraines and more. Brian has experienced all of these in his FND journey. He has been unable to work, drive, or participate in many activities or events that he has enjoyed in the past. He is in a holding pattern between multiple hospital and doctor visits, occupational therapy & physical therapy. His path so far has been challenging but he has a strong support system between family and friends. He continues to maintain a positive attitude.
