My stepdad Brian is a hero. Not the kind you see on TV - the real kind.

In Riverside, California, a fire broke out on the third story of an apartment building. Inside was a woman who is 8 months pregnant, trapped and about to jump head first from one of the windows in the apartment. BUT before that happened, he saved her and her unborn baby. Unfortunately, he didn't make it out in time the apartment exploded and the force of the burst threw him out of the third story window. He survived. But he has two broken legs, and doctors have told us he may never walk again and possible amputation on both his legs.

We thought they would rush him into surgery, sadly they couldnt. His blood pressure was too high to safely operate. Now, my hero is stuck in a hospital bed, broken and in pain, waiting - and the first thing he asked about wasn't himself, it was whether the mother and her baby were okay.

That's who Brian is. He would give everything for a stranger. Now he needs us.

Brian is facing multiple surgeries, months of rehab, and a long road where he won't be able to work or walk. The medical bills are already piling up and we are trying to hold our family together.

I'm starting this GoFundMe with a goal of $15,000 to help cover his surgeries, hospital stay, and recovery. Every single dollar goes directly to Brian's medical expenses.
