Sometimes things in life do not make sense and this is one of those times... our Miami Lakes United Soccer club family is in shock and our hearts are broken. We are organizing this GoFundMe page to support one of our soccer players, Brian Acosta, a BRAVE teenager that suffers from Hirschsprung disease (aganglionic megacolon), it occurs when some of the nerve cells that are normally present in the wall of the intestine do not form properly during fetal development. Brian Acosta is currently 15 years old, at 4-months of age, he had his first surgery and since then he had to fight this medical condition throughout his young life.
 
Brian started playing soccer in Miami Lakes United Soccer Club when he was a little kid, unfortunately now his condition has worsen forcing Brian to give up his passion for soccer, he has not been able to play with his team since September.  Brian is also missing school, as he had to be hospitalized several times during the year.  He has been in the hospital since last month due to having constant pain (most of the time he has persistent and severe pain) and his only option to cure the pain is to have 3 different surgeries. 
 
Brian will have his first surgery in Miami this upcoming Monday, the second surgery will have to take place in Nationwide Hospital/ Columbus Ohio where a specialized surgeon can only perform this type of specialized surgery.    
 
Brian is a loving and incredible son and brother who adores his family, he is an amazing friend to so many of us, and a remarkable student. Yuni, Brian's Mom, has been volunteering for many years in Miami Lakes United Soccer Club. She is part of our fundraising committee, and has always worked hard to help other players in need.  Now, Brian and his family need all of us, Yuni stopped working as she has been all day at the hospital taking care of Brian. Yuni’s husband, Oscar Villar, has to work and take care of their other 3 children; life has dramatically changed for this family in the last few months. Please help us raise money to support Brian’s family cover their travel expenses to  Ohio, medical expenses, and incurring expenses.  Yuni will not be able to work for a few months, and will help with Brian's recovery.
