This is Brian . He's a ex Hamilton County Correctional officer. Brian was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had a few aggressive surgeries followed by chemo. He now is cancer free , but the cancer caused him to lose his job along with everything else . He was just short of his pension to top it off . He now is homeless . He has a electric bike that he carries 2 blankets and a sleeping bag along with all his medicines on. He's also diabetic. He charges his bike and phone at star bucks in hyde park kroger on Paxton Ave where he spends all day staying out the cold till they close . Brian doesn't drink or do drugs . He currently gets SSI and food stamps . He just needs a little help and he can take it from there. Ive talked with him about going to a shelter but hes told me he doesnt want robbed or killed and he knows what goes on in there considering his ex exployment background . Its winter time and hes sleeping outside . If we can get this man a place to live he can manage the rest . He has told me of plenty of programs to help him he just needs a signed lease before they will help . I'm trying to get him a efficiency or 1 bedroom .
