Pablo was uninsured when he was diagnosed with throat cancer in early April, 2021. He has obtained insurance now, but his medical expenses to this point are substantial. He will also incur significant out-of-pocket costs as he undergoes treatment. Estimates range from $30,000 to $100,000 from lost wages and lost work as a rancher and trucker. 

Pablo and his wife have been surrogate parents and family to a man who is mentally challenged as a result of severe child abuse, and whose own parents abandoned him when he was 14. The first Christmas he spent with them, they gave him the first present he had ever received.
