Any help is greatly appreciated—we are an elderly couple in immediate need of support. If we don’t receive help soon, we will lose the only roof we have over our heads. We are behind on rent, living in a small motel room because it’s all we could afford before my hospitalization. The sheriff knocked on the door this morning and gave us 10 days, until Friday, February 21st, to vacate our room. We’ve reached out to agencies, but we keep running into barriers—we’ve been told there are no resources available in our county.

Our Struggles

We lost our home when Brian was hospitalized with COVID. He has continued to battle long COVID while we moved into this motel room, and he continues looking for work and is caring for me. He has been out of work since October of last year —partly due to my hospitalization (a suspected stroke) and partly due to the usual winter slowdown in the remodeling business.

Why We Need Your Help

Since my hospitalization, Brian has been my full-time caregiver, making it impossible for him to work. I am slowly regaining my strength, which - in time - will allow Brian to go back to work. That will allow us to keep a roof over our heads.

Dogs in Need

We also have two senior dogs (13 and 11 years old) who are family to us, and losing our home means losing them, too. If we are forced into a shelter, we will be separated from each other after a lifetime together.
