Help Brian Heal After a Devastating Motorcycle Accident

Dear friends and community,

On the evening of June 20, our youngest son Brian had been in a devastating motorcycle accident. He was riding as a passenger with his best friend when the accident happened. Tragically, his dear friend passed away just days later. Our hearts are broken for his family. No words can describe the grief of witnessing such a young life lost far too soon.

Brian was transported to a nearby trauma center in critical condition. By the grace of God, he survived, but he suffered multiple severe injuries (blood loss, open pelvic fracture, femoral neck fracture, open tibial plateau fracture, traumatic brain injury, depressed nasal bone fracture). He underwent several surgeries, and spent three long weeks in the hospital, ten of which were spent in the Intensive Care Unit.

Since coming home, Brian has begun occupational and speech therapy. Just this week, he was cleared to start physical therapy. He now faces the difficult challenge of relearning how to walk. His current imaging shows that more surgeries may still be needed, and his recovery will be a long and difficult journey.

He was really looking forward to his senior year of high school, but now he’ll begin it from home while he works hard on his recovery.

The overwhelming cost of Brian’s current medical bills, ongoing medical care and recovery has placed a heavy financial burden on our family.
