My son Brian Newberry is 21 years old and is borderline autistic. He worked hard and saved up his money for a long time to buy a 4-wheeler, which was a big dream of his. After enjoying it for a while, Brian decided to trade his 4-wheeler for a truck so he could have reliable transportation. He found someone willing to trade, giving up his 4-wheeler and some extra money for the truck. Before the trade, Brian even spent more to make sure the 4-wheeler was in good shape for the new owner.
Unfortunately, less than two months after the trade, Brian discovered that the truck had serious engine problems, including misfiring cylinders and blown head gaskets. The previous owner hadn’t told him about any of these issues. When Brian tried to get it fixed, things only got worse, and now the truck isn’t running at all. Brian just got a job at AVE working on ambulances and is supposed to start on the 24th of this month, but now he has no way to get to work. As his mom, it breaks my heart to see him struggle, especially since I can’t help financially because I have lupus and am unable to work. Brian’s dad is not in his life and does not help at all, so Brian has very little family support. He graduated last year and has always been respectful and helpful to his neighbors, even though he doesn’t have many friends or family to lean on.
This fundraiser is to help Brian fix his dream truck or, if repairs aren’t possible, to help him get another reliable vehicle so he can get to his new job. If the mechanics find more issues, the funds will help cover those extra costs. I want to show my son that there are still good people in the world who care about others, especially those who are vulnerable. Brian loves God and believes that things will work out, and I hope this support will help restore his faith in kindness. Any help you can give would mean so much to us. Brian truly deserves a helping hand.
