I have been battling multiple cancers and heart disease for over a year. It is so hard for me to do this, but today is my proverbial "rainy day" and I need your help. In October 2020, I was diagnosed with high-grade prostate cancer. My PSA level was 154. That's not good. I also have small cell lung cancer and heart disease. I have been prodded, probed and invaded. Despite the advanced and aggressive prognosis, I am fighting this head on and seeking to cure my prostate cancer. I refuse to throw in the towel and settle for the "best possible quality of life". I've had 35 days of radiation, hormone therapies and immunotherapy that will probably last another year or two. Biopsies, heart stent implantations, and invasive procedures you don't ever want to know about. My medical debt alone exceeds $18,000. I've been trying to handle everything on my own until recently, when my landlord stated that they're not renewing my lease and we have to be out of our apartment by the end of October. I'm looking to raise $25,000 to get my life back on track.

 

 I'm raising these funds to continue my cancer treatments and address my mounting debt. While that is happening, I am searching for a new place to live and ways to bring in immediate income. I take about 11 different drugs each day that leave me compromised, fatigued, woozy and unsteady on my feet. This, combined with the almost complete halt in real estate development after the onset of COVID, decimated my business and my personal ability to earn a living. I create augmented realty applications that let you “see” and understand a building before it is actually there.

 

Asking for help pains me. It’s not who I am. Optimism is a defining characteristic of mine, yet now I feel vulnerable, useless and more than slightly embarrassed.
