It’s true- we really are closing. If you were someone who asked how you can help, keep reading.

For over 11 years, Skidmark Garage has been a safe haven for anyone looking to work on their projects, or themselves. It was a place where people from all walks of life, from every side of town and even out of state, came together to share tools, stories, and support. Whether you were wrenching on a carburetor, or just needed a place to belong, Skidmark Garage welcomed everyone and made sure there was always a seat at the table for YOU.

This community space was more than just a garage. It was where friendships were built, parades kicked-off, members attended fish fries together, and kids and adults alike were introduced to the world of fixing your own sh*t.

Brian Schaffran, the heart behind Skidmark Garage, poured his own time, resources, and love into making sure this garage thrived, even when it meant personal sacrifice. He took on debt and covered costs so the community could have what it needed, from consumables and parts, to a warm place to get off the street when people had no where to sleep.

Now, Skidmark Garage has made the difficult decision to close. The challenges of leaving a long-term lease early, rising rent and utilities, and the current economic climate have made it impossible to keep the doors open.

Closing is never easy, especially when it means saying goodbye to a place that changed so many lives, including Brian’s.

In order to close, Brian is now facing significant debt, legal fees, and bankruptcy costs just to say goodbye with dignity.

Funds raised will help pay down the debt on rent and utilities owed after closing, cover lawyers' fees, and bankruptcy filing costs so Brian can move forward. If you ever spent time at Skidmark Garage, please consider chipping in a dollar or two to help Brian focus on the next phase of life, teaching kids to turn wrenches.

Your support will help close the doors with dignity and peace, honoring the legacy of the world’s largest community motorcycle garage, and the coolest place in Cleveland.
