Help Brian Brooks get back on his feet

Hi my name is Brianna Battistoni. I am starting this go fund me for my father, Brian Brooks. Brian has been a dedicated employee of Deerfield Academy for over 30 years as a dining hall chef. Recently he has been struggling with his health and complications from diabetes and heart disease. In the past year alone he has been hospitalized three different times for weeks at a time. His insurance hasn’t been able to cover all hospital costs and unfortunately Brian is left with the remaining medical bills.

Brian’s health journey is still not over and he has many more hurdles to overcome. Brian has been diagnosed with pulmonary edema, causing his lungs to fill with fluid and at one point causing him to be put on a ventilator. Brian still has to receive circulation vein reconstruction surgery due to very poor circulation in his lower extremities. Furthermore, due to a wound in his foot Brian still faces the possibility of having his left leg amputated below the knee. Due to all of these complications from his health he is unfortunately unable to continue working, leaving him financially insecure.

Funds that we raise here would help towards the following:

• fitted for custom orthopedic shoes

• medical bills costing in $5,000.00 and more to possible add.

• help in making Brian’s 3rd floor apartment more accessible or finding a new apartment more accessible for him to get around.

• cost of co-pays for prescriptions.

• cost of transportation to appointments.
