A message from Brian’s family-
11/23-It’s been a few days since an update, largely because there isn’t much to update on. Brian continues to be stable, but still requiring a high support from ECMO. There has been some good and bad over the last few days, but nothing unexpected. His kidneys are having a tough time and he has started dialysis (which is working). But on a positive note, his bleeding seems to have decreased and they were able to restart him on anti coagulants. As a family, we have been so thankful to visit Brian in person. His care team continues to be fantastic and so kind when we visit. They are always happy to answer any questions and ask questions to learn more about Brian. Please continue your prayers and healing thoughts
We have some good news today on Brian. They were able to decrease the ECMO support some and his oxygen is staying at acceptable levels. This is great news and the first real progress we have seen. Keep those thoughts and prayers coming. We still have a long way to go, but this is a step in the healing direction.
We want to reach out to let you know that our beloved Brian Boone is fighting the biggest battle of his life right now.
Brian was recently diagnosed with Covid. He was admitted to St. John Medical Center on 10/23 and was then transferred to PeaceHealth Southwest on oxygen that night. He agreed to be intubated on 10/28. He was transferred to OHSU on 11/2 and was put on ECMO to give his heart and lungs the much needed assistance that they need. He remains on ECMO at OHSU in critical condition. He is in much need of positive healing vibes and prayers from everyone.
Anyone who has ever met Brian, can honestly say that he has such a kind and beautiful soul. He is generous, funny, adventurous, caring, and he is lovingly referred to as “MacGyver,” as he can fix just about anything. Brian is the first to lend a helping hand, even to those he barely knows. Please help us return the kindness that he always provides others and help us raise money to assist with his medical bills during this difficult time.
His family genuinely appreciates all of your love, support, and prayers, but please give them space as they navigate this difficult time.
With love, hope, some medical magic, and oh so many prayers, we are wishing for the best possible outcome for him. We thank you so much for helping in any way that you can.
