Hi - my name is Shaun and I am fundraising for Brian Benson of Tucson Arizona. Brian had brain surgery 2 years ago to remove a growth and was doing fine, but in October 2021 went in for another brain surgery to get the rest of the growth and had a stroke during the procedure. He has been hospitalized since Oct 2021 and has had a breathing + feeding tube inserted, as he’s been working to re-learn to breathe, eat, and use one side of his body again. He was doing physical therapy, but progress has been slow and now insurance is balking to pay for more. It has been three weeks sonce Brian has had any therapy. To get Brian into a good location with dedicated physical therapists for him, the cost is roughly $3,500 (per day) and we are hoping that 2-3 months of focused time can get Brian more self sufficient once again. Without this therapy, Brian will be confined to a wheelchair never knowing if he could have walked and talked again. Transportation for Brian will be costly as well. Approximately $15,000 one way. The first 9 months of his recovery are critical to his health. We are at 5 months post operation. Please help Brian get his chance at recovering from his brain injury.
