- HELP BRI WITH A LIFE-CHANGING SURGERY & TREATMENT
Bri, our beloved daughter-in-law, is struggling with a medical condition called Achalasia. This is an incurable disease that will deteriorate over time and causes trouble with eating and drinking daily. While Achalasia has no cure, it does have several palliative options to allow for prolonged quality of life.
Thankfully, Bri has been accepted into the Achalasia program at the Mayo Clinic for evaluation and treatment, including several surgeries as part of the palliative care options. This surgery may provide relief for the next many years, but it comes with very long post-op care and recovery.
Bri and our son, Drew, will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in mid-February and possibly again shortly after that for specialty care.
Bri and Drew have done so much for others while trying very hard to maintain a normal quality of life. Bri started a non-profit called Kaylee’s Kamp Foundation, which provides summer camp scholarships for LGBTQ+ teens around the United States. Drew, a Navy veteran, has volunteered for many years with disaster relief and recovery for Team Rubicon while attending school to help others with sports recovery efforts.
While Bri and Drew would never ask, will you consider helping them cover the added expenses for her visit to the Mayo Clinic, including post-op care while she recovers? Any help will allow Drew and Bri to focus on her recovery without the financial burden that comes from these specialty care efforts.
