In late 2024, I was in a horrific, life-changing accident that turned my world upside down. After emergency surgery and a long, difficult recovery, I had to relearn how to walk and adjust to a new way of living. Every day since then, I have relied on mobility devices to help me perform even the most basic daily tasks. The pain I experience is still excruciating at times, and using these devices is the only way I can find some relief and maintain a sense of normalcy.
Having a wheelchair would mean so much more than just a way to get around. It would allow me to experience being in public and doing everyday activities again—things I haven’t been able to do since the accident. With a wheelchair, I could regain my independence, attend appointments, spend time with loved ones, and participate in my community. Most importantly, it would help ease some of the chronic pain I live with every day.
Kindness is never energy wasted—this is something I learned while completely helpless in the hospital. Thank you for taking your time to show kindness, compassion, and love to your community. I would not be here if it wasn’t for our amazing community, and I will be forever grateful for any support you can offer.
