Help Bri cover costs post-transplant
Donation protected
Hi! As many of you know, my fiancé Bri was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 T-cell lymphoma back in April. Since then, she’s undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy, and recently was discharged after a stem cell transplant. She’s doing well & is making progress in her recovery, but she has a long road ahead of her still & is expected to social distance and abstain from working until early next year.
I had previously crowdfunded for her back in April to cover medical/ any other costs she had along the way since disability checks do not cover nearly enough. As I had stated on our last GFM update, we were fortunate enough to have a whole team of people at Roswell Cancer Institute whose sole job was to counter any insurance issues, and because of them we have not had to pay for any of her treatments so far. This has been a godsend, as her insurance has attempted to deny her coverage for multiple treatments/medications, and not many cancer patients get the care that Bri has experienced with Roswell’s insurance claims managers. Because of this, I closed down the last GFM before we reached our goal because we were set for the time being.
However, even with insurance (begrudgingly) covering her treatments, life has been expensive since Bri has had to stop DJing, working her day job, and continued shouldering the silent costs of being a cancer patient. The money raised on the last GFM (around $11,000 after fees) was extremely helpful in maintaining a comfortable life for her while she fought through her cancer treatments, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed. The money raised went towards her portion of rent, utilities, groceries, and other various living costs.
Unfortunately, 8 months later she is running low on funds again and we decided it would be best to get ahead of it & start a new GFM to get her through the next few months. This time around, I’m asking for help with Bri’s following costs: her portion of rent for 3 months until she can at least go back to her day job, utilities, and help with covering the cost of repairing/replacing her mixer so she can get back to DJing next spring when the doctor clears her.
This money raised here will go directly to Bri, but if you prefer, she also takes Venmo (Bri-Harris-5) and Cash App ($dirtywifi). Please share and contribute if you can. Thank you so much everyone for your continued support during this incredibly difficult time! We love you all!
