'Our Dad has always been the strongest, most hardworking, selfless and caring man we know always helping others. Whether it was football coaching, giving lifts, helping neighbours or in more recent times delivering medicine in his part time job.

Recently, our worlds were turned upside down when he suddenly lost his sight overnight.

Simple things we take for granted—seeing the faces of loved ones, walking independently, watching his grandchildren play sport and watching his beloved Manchester United, these life pleasures were instantly taken from him.

After many consultations, we have found hope: a specialist treatment centre in Germany that could give him the chance to regain his vision. This treatment is not available in England and while we are beyond grateful that there’s a possibility for him to see again, the costs are high. Between travel, accommodation, medical expenses and aftercare, this is a significant sum of money hence the 'go fund me' assistance.
