Hi! Aubrianne is a 13 year old fighting Chondrosarcoma which is a rare disease, that generally begins in the bones. It normally grows on the hip, or anywhere cartilage cells grow. It is also most common in adults. Brie was diagnosed with this cancer in the base of her skull.
Brie underwent her first surgery March 30th. Unfortunately it was not as successful as they hoped. After 8 hours of surgery, they were only able to take a small portion of the tumor out.
The fact that this is in her head, at 13, is so highly uncommon that it is taking an adult surgeon, who specializes in skull based tumors, to go back in and try to get as much out as possible. Her carotid artery is wrapped around the mass. They will have to go down for some additional testing, in order to see how aggressive they can be on this next surgery. Then they move on to oncology.
Unfortunately her 3rd and 6th nerves have been injured as a result of the mass location and the last surgery. Her eye won’t open. If it does, she will see double both vertically and horizontally.
Brie is doing as best as she can and in the light of things, she named the tumor "Todd".
Help us raise money to help Amanda with medical expenses, travel expenses and anything to help Brie stay comfortable at this time. If you are unable to donate, please share to help spread the word.
We appreciate everyone that helps support Bri the best way they can.
