For the past week, my daughter and I have been seeing a stray cat wandering around Brewster, Massachusetts. Early one morning, she came right up to me, clearly desperate for help. We brought her to the police station, who directed us to the Dennis emergency vet. The vet told us she had been abandoned for a long time—she was emaciated, wounded, and suffering from a severe skin condition. Despite everything, she is incredibly sweet and trusting, and the vet estimated she’s only about 5 or 6 months old.

The emergency vet couldn’t treat her skin condition and explained that she needs a full veterinary work up, including a physical exam, skin scrape, microchip, spay, and any other follow-up care or medication to help her recover. I simply can’t afford these costs, but I refuse to let her be euthanized or left to suffer. I want to give her a chance at a healthy, happy life, and I’m reaching out to fellow animal lovers for help.
