Brett Gibson is a proud veteran who served in both the Air Force and the Army. After an honorable medical discharge, he continued to serve by deploying as a contractor to support his son, Aiden, and advance his career. His journey has been marked by resilience through numerous business endeavors and personal challenges.
In 2017, Brett was struck by a semi-truck while riding a bicycle, resulting in a brain bleed and severe injuries to his spine, hips, ribs, arm, and foot. Though the brain bleed stopped on its own, the physical and emotional toll has been immense. Over the past seven years, his health has fluctuated, and the last six months have been the most difficult.
Brett has recently been battling severe PTSD symptoms, including dissociation and depersonalization, which make daily life feel surreal and disconnected. Medical professionals believe these symptoms are his body’s defense mechanism against years of trauma and stress. On top of this, he was diagnosed with a 50% blockage in one of his arteries, compounding his health issues.
Currently, Brett is facing eviction from his home. He is $5,500 past due on rent, and although his landlord has been understanding, the threat of losing his home is real. Due to his physical limitations, he cannot endure the stress or labor of moving. He has applied for food stamps and housing assistance but has been denied.
Brett is awaiting disability support from the VA and has hope that things will improve. However, he urgently needs help to get through this phase and remain in his home. Your support can make a life-changing difference for Brett and his son.
Please consider donating to help Brett stay in his home and continue his journey toward healing and stability. Every contribution counts.
