Urgent help needed during Brett’s recovery

Donation protected
Brett is a loving father, grandfather, and husband. He is strong, hard working, good natured, and has plenty of energy to play with his grandchildren.

Suddenly, on May 16th while at work, he was rushed to the hospital experiencing chest pain similar to a mild heart attack. Spending 10 days in the intensive care unit, it was determined that damage had been done to his main artery which is called an aortic dissection, essentially it’s a tear in his artery which will require a long road to recovery.

Brett and his wife are both deaf, which brings a lot of challenges and barriers in communication with medical staff, nurses and doctors. In addition, it has been painful for him to communicate in sign language hooked up to so many IVs. If you are reading this as a hearing person, you can only try to imagine the difficulty of going through a traumatic situation like this without the ability to hear and communicate.

We are so lucky that Brett is strong and healthy, and that he has been healing well in the hospital. He is now recovering in the cardiology unit until his blood pressure stabilizes on medication. He has been in the hospital for over two weeks, but we don’t know at this point when he’ll be able to come home.

Brett & his family are in need of urgent help to cover the cost of monthly bills and essentials while they wait for insurance coverage to come. Any donations will help at this time to help cover these urgent costs: rent, car payment, gas, phone bills, food, and other costs to come while Brett and his wife are out of work getting through this tough time.

Donations of any amount are truly appreciated and would take so much stress off the family in this difficult time. All donations will go directly to Brett’s wife Joanne to cover these crucial life expenses, helping them have some much needed relief from the stress and worry they have been through.
