Help Bret Snyder Overcome Medical Challenges

Donation protected
Update on Bret's journey, by Jolene Snyder (Bret's sister in law). The bone infection has progressed and Bret's Dr. has ordered six weeks of twice daily infusions of antibiotics. Bret has been able to work some limited hours the past two weeks as they were able to put a cast back on his foot/lower leg area, but he continues to have a lot of pain and can only stand being on his feet a few hours at a time. This greatly limits how much he can earn. He appreciates your prayers and generous financial support to help him with upcoming expenses such next months rent, food, medications and other monthly bills. Thank you so much!

My name is Bret Snyder and I live in Hutchinson, KS. I have been battling diabetes for several years now and had some toes amputated one year ago. Then, more recently, I was diagnosed with a condition called Charcot foot, which refers to progressive fragmentation of the bones in my foot, causing them to weaken and deform. I currently have infection in the foot and am in the process of being scheduled for another surgery to remove the infected tissue. I am hoping my foot can be saved!

I play piano at Faith United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, and it has been a struggle for me to continue doing what I love with these medical issues.

Until recently, I have been able to work to support myself as a dishwasher at the KS Law Enforcement Training Center. When I was recently diagnosed with Charcot foot and my foot was becoming unbearably painful, the clinic put a cast on my foot, which helped to protect it and give me enough support that I could continue working. My medical clinic now tells me that there is a shortage of materials and that they cannot put on another cast but only supply me with a boot. I've tried to continue working, but the pain and instability makes doing my work intolerable.

My employer has now put me on medical leave as I am not able to get around well enough without the support of the cast to do my work. Without income and soon to be facing another surgery, I will not be able to earn income to pay my monthly bills. I've been trying to look into employment where I would not need to stand and which would be less physically demanding but have found nothing so far. Thanks for any help you can spare to get me through the next few months while I hope my condition will stabilize and perhaps I can find a more suitable job. I really appreciate your help!
