Hello, from the Sweeney family! We are asking for donations to assist with out-of city expenses not covered by OHIP (Canadian health insurance) as our beloved friend, husband, brother, step-father, and grandfather, Brent Sweeney, continues his battle with recently diagnosed AML leukemia, an aggressive from of cancer that requires 24/7 chemotherapy 3 hours away at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. He has just completed 7 days of treatment and is looking at many more weeks of chemo. Our goal is to raise funds to allow his wife, who is also unable to work due to her own disability, to be with him in a different city as a source of strength and support.

As many of you may know, Brent is a kind, loving, generous man who we are all offering our full support and wishing a speedy recovery as he receives the best treatment he can get. We understand this year was challenging for many people for a variety of reasons; for us, to receive this news just before the holiday season has been a difficult adjustment. If you are able to, we would very much appreciate any support you can offer during this time of hardship for our family. Brent is a strong-willed man with a big heart, and we are confident he will make it through this. He would be incredibly grateful to hear others are extending their generosity as he would, and to know your thoughts and prayers are with him as he fights the hardest battle of his lifetime.
