Our family is asking for help to rebuild my cousin Brent’s life after a devastating injustice. He was wrongly accused of an attempted rape at Hunter Park and spent an entire month in jail for a crime he did not commit.
From day one, there were serious inconsistencies in the case. He had a solid alibi and didn't match the suspect's sketch.
The victim claimed she sprayed her attacker with pepper spray, yet he had no redness or irritation. She said the suspect wore baggy pants, but my cousin was wearing tight-fitting jeans that day. Even with all of this, he was still picked out of a photo lineup - a tragic mistake that changed everything for him.
After a month of anguish, the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office officially dropped all charges and confirmed his innocence.
While we are deeply grateful that truth finally came to light, the emotional, financial, and personal damage has been overwhelming.
He lost a month of his life, time he'll never get back with his daughter. His reputation suffered as people rushed to judgment. He lost income, stability, and peace of mind. No one should ever have to go through what he endured for something he didn't do.
This GoFundMe is to help him start over and to cover lost wages, legal expenses, and basic costs while he rebuilds his life and works to restore his name. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and remind him that compassion and truth still matter.
If you can't give, please share his story so more people understand how wrongful accusations can destroy innocent lives.
Thank you for standing with Brent and helping him find his footing again after such a painful experience.
