Help Brennan Keep His Home and Find Stability

Donation protected
To whomever may be reading this...my name is Brennan and I reside in Mesa, AZ.

The majority of 2024 has not been kind to me and between summer and now fall, things have gotten worse and honestly, I'm embarrassed to be typing this however, here I am, asking for (public) help.

Prior to the start of the summer, a former significant other that I treated the best I could and did everything possible for decided to completely take me for granted, broke my heart and separated herself stating she didn't want to be in a relationship simply because she didn't want the responsibility of "having to care about another person's feelings or hear someone else's input"...the simplicity of that statement was hard for me to believe too!

Despite the fact we were apart, we waited out the end of our lease and we agreed that she would give me back my portion of the security deposit ($1400) once the apartment reimbursed her which she happily reneged on and did not by the way.

I began the process of looking for a place of my own between March and May.

For the last almost couple of years, I was a brand ambassador for a cannabis company, making a decent, somewhat liveable wage. I informed my job almost 2 months in advance that because me and my former GF were moving on from each other and our apartment by May 31st that I would no longer have access to her vehicle that we both shared and put money into. My job insured me that there would be a way for me to work in another position until I possibly obtained a vehicle and after I got settled into a place of my own.

This did not happen...my landlord was kind enough to let me move into my new place knowing that I would owe them more from what I had to give them at the time (June 1st).

During that first month, my job never worked out anything for me and allegedly was behind on their own stuff. I never got to pay that remaining balance, I had little to no food, having to borrow funds from some family, friends, etc just to eat and keep my lights on. and that carried into the top of July when my job finally called and stated "we can put you in a remote position starting ASAP!"

"Better late than never" right? I was able to make a payment plan with my landlord which I continued to honor all the way through mid-late August (20th) where I was laid off completely after two years of service.

Since that time, to this day (Friday, 10/4) I've been fighting for my unemployment, didn't get approved for food EBT until very recently (thank God) and waking up every morning applying for jobs as well as checking the status of said unemployment.

Most rental assistance organizations here in AZ will not help a single man with no children or dependents as i've reached out to several.

As of now, my internet is off, original cell service off, electricity would be off had we not still been under an Excessive Heat warning still in early October here where I live so they have to keep people's AC's active by law.

In addition, I've already had to attend evictions court and have to come up with a plan by this Monday (10/07) with my landlord with the opposite being, I lose my place with no living space options at all.

Throughout all of this, I just want to keep the place that I have because it took long enough to find it. I'm still looking for jobs and i'm still waiting to hear back about my unemployment appeal which has been weeks now and the person that worked on my case keeps saying "someone will get in contact with you!"

Meanwhile, i'm about to lose my home.

If anyone out there can find it in their heart to donate as much as possible at the very least toward a $2500-$3500 goal, that would help me with September's back rent and pay majority of October's as I'm now back in the hole with nowhere to go if I lose this! Please help, I do my best not to ask for much unless things get completely out of my control...this is one of those times! I just want my peace before the end of this year.
