Help Brenna and Quentin Rebuild After Helene

I’ve known Brenna since preschool, and our friendship has spanned decades. Now, our children attend the same school, we volunteer together and have always supported our community, but now Brenna and her family need our help.

On the night of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact, Brenna and Quentin, with their four young boys, experienced unimaginable loss. Though their home had never flooded before, an unprecedented storm surge sent 2 feet of sewage and ocean water rushing into their house at 1am. With no time to spare, they grabbed their boys and escaped to safety, leaving behind everything they owned. Now, their home is uninhabitable, and all their belongings—clothes, toys, furniture—must be thrown away.

Though they have applied for city, state, and federal aid, historically, such assistance is minimal and will not come close to covering the costs of temporary housing during repairs or the replacement of everything they lost. The Terpstra’s have always been dedicated to helping others, frequently volunteering and donating to their community. Now they need our help.
