Help Brenin Ride Through Cancer's Challenge

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My name is Garin, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my best friend, Brenin — someone whose strength, courage, and spirit have always been larger than life.

Just a few years ago, his world changed forever. After a series of persistent headaches, memory problems, and a sudden seizure-induced blackout, Brenin was rushed to the hospital. What we thought might be a simple issue turned into a nightmare none of us were prepared for: Stage 3 Glioblastoma, an aggressive and terminal form of brain cancer.

The words still don’t feel real when I say them out loud. Brenin is only 28 — young, active, and someone who has always lived life with a fierce sense of adventure and gratitude. Now, he’s facing the unimaginable.

While the doctors have been clear that there is no cure, Brenin is determined to make the most of the time he has left. And there’s one wish he’s held onto since the day he received the diagnosis:

He wants to ride.
Not away from the reality of what’s happening, but into the mountains, into the fresh air, and into the freedom that riding has always given him.

Brenin dreams of owning a high-quality mountain bike — something sturdy, fast, and built for the trails he used to love before the diagnosis turned his world upside down. He wants to ride with the people he loves, to feel alive and free for as long as his body allows.

This fundraiser isn’t just about a bike. It’s about giving my best friend a chance to reconnect with joy, movement, and peace in the face of something so heavy. It’s about making space for living even when death is at the door.

Our goal: $600
This will go toward:

An entry-level performance, hardtail mountain bike fit for his size and current mobility (Most likely a Ozark trail)

Safety gear and adaptive accessories

Maintenance and support to keep him riding as long as possible

Every donation — no matter how small — is a gift of freedom for Brenin. If you can’t contribute financially, we ask you to share this page, send words of encouragement, or even offer a trail recommendation near the East Bay area in California.

We don’t know how much time he has — weeks, maybe months. But we do know that he’s still here today. And today, he wants to ride.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping Brenin write one more chapter filled with wind, wheels, and the wildness of being alive.

With all our hearts,
Garin & Brenin’s Ride Crew
