On early Wednesday morning my little brother, Brendan, was attacked unprovoked while sleeping in his bed. A person came into his room and stabbed him multiple times then ran from the room. He was later caught by police thankfully, and charges will be pressed.
Brendan was rushed to the hospital and was treated for multiple deep wounds all over his body, many of which just missed critical areas. He is currently safe and healing.
I am creating this fundraiser to help Brendan get back on his feet and find some support and grounding after this intensely traumatic situation. He is a food bike courier and he will not be able to work for a while since his leg and hands were deeply wounded. I know he will be very concerned about mounting hospital bills and that derailing him from his dreams of being a screenwriter and establishing himself in LA.
The most important thing is to make surethat Brendan has time and space to heal physically and emotionally and any financial contributions will help with that.
No one would ever think that something this horrifying could happen to them, andthe best we can hope for is to build a safeplace and community for Brendan.
