Help Brendan Fight Stage 4 Cancer

On August 17th, 2023, Brendan Hehir went to his doctor for a check up regarding a mass that had appeared on the left side of his neck. After his initial visit, X-Ray, CT Scans and Blood Work he was referred to an ENT specialist. A biopsy was conducted and the diagnosis from the Doctor was nothing that anyone was expecting or prepared to receive…CANCER.

The following days became a blur as Brendan and family came to terms with what life with Cancer may look like. The normal questions arose, what kind, how advanced, is this a death sentence? Those answers would come with additional tests. Through a biopsy conducted, it was determined to be Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma (caused by HPV), the area was determined to be in his tonsil and lymph nodes. Brendan will need both radiation therapy and chemotherapy. His treatments are set to begin on September 18, 2023. Brendan is in for the fight of his life.

Brendan is currently living and working in Florida with his lifelong wife Nancy. Brendan has 5 children, along with 10 grandchildren and another on the way! He lives for these children and is going to put up a good fight to be around to see them all grow up!

Anyone who knows Brendan, knows that he is always busy doing something and has been lovingly referred to as “industrious”. If it were up to Brendan, he would continue working everyday that he could to support his wife and family- we know that this will not be the case as he will become unable to work once his body becomes weakened from radiation and chemotherapy 5 days a week.

Brendan and Nancy could really use assistance in helping to pay for costs associated with treatment and everyday living expenses on a diminished income. They are very proud people and reluctant to ask for or receive any help, however they will not be able to endure this without support from friends and family.
