John and Brenda have been married for 57 years. Life for them has had its normal challenges, until recently when John developed an issue with his lungs after COVID in December. It seemed to be manageable until recently when he developed pneumonia and ended up in the ICU for 5 days, a step down unit for 5 more days and then was transferred to an Acute care facility. He was placed on BIPAP oxygen at very high doses and they struggled to get his oxygen up to a healthy level. A few days after transferring him to a Specialty Hospital John began to get worse. He was coughing up a lot of blood and his oxygen level would drop into the 60s without rebounding quickly. The decision had to be made to move John to comfort measures and he passed away within a few hours, on August 12th. John was a man who loved God, his family and loved being a Papa! He truly left a legacy. After his passing, a friend described him as " A special man that could be so much fun and yet lay the truth on you." He served his Lord and discipled his family well! Saying goodbye to him is extremely hard for his wife Brenda and his children and grandchildren. It is difficult to grieve but the financial burden of the medical bills and funeral expenses have made things a bit heavier than we would have hoped. We are asking for assistance with the financial burden this has left for Brenda. Her income is very limited and she is trusting God for provision as she attempts to honor her husband. The medical bills exceed over $10,000 and the funeral expenses are approximately $8,200. Any assistance or help would be greatly appreciated.
