Hi, my name is Dan Hoechst and I am fundraising for Brenda Swanson to fight cancer. For those that don’t know me I am Brenda's oldest son. As a baby I was placed for adoption and reconnected with Brenda when I was 19. Nine months later my little brother Ben was born. Brenda and Erich have both been supportive of me since the day I came into their lives. If you know Brenda, she has the biggest heart and is the kindest person you will ever meet. Enough about all that.

Everything started with Brenda dealing with pain in the abdomen. The pain was severe and persistent. It went on for several weeks involving frequent trips to the ER. The doctors originally thought it was just a bladder infection. They gave her medicine and sent her home. The pain remained. A few days later she was back in the ER. This time a CT scan was performed, and the diagnoses was kidney stones. They gave her new medicine and sent her home. A few days later she is in pain again and goes back to the ER. Another CT scan is performed, but with dye. They find a huge mass on her cervix. They confirmed on Friday 9/10/21 that it is stage 3 cancer. She will be undergoing chemo and radiation to shrink and ultimately dissolve the mass.

Anyone that knows Brenda, knows she is a fighter. While she is ready to fight this cancer for herself and her family; we can’t let her take this fight on alone. I know she has always been there for anyone that has needed help. My ask is for help and support for Brenda, just as she has done for so many others. She will win this fight!
