I want to introduce you to the most amazing people, Brenda and Frank. I’ve known them for almost 20 years and they are the kind of people everyone wishes they had in their lives. They’ve never hesitated to drop everything to help someone in need — they were there for me when my mom passed away, and even drove from Bakersfield, CA to Portland, OR the day my father-in-law passed. They even helped my mother in law when she had breast cancer. Every time they were needed, they’ve shown up for others.

Now, it’s Brenda who needs help, and I can't do it alone.

Here's The Situation:

Brenda is facing open heart surgery this week (August 18, 2025). While she should be focusing entirely on healing, she’s still waiting for approval on FMLA and short-term disability. Without that support, her income is at risk — and so is their ability to cover the essentials. Even though she has been working FULL TIME as a Pharmacy Tech for several years, currently her claims are DENIED so she will be forced to appeal the decisions while still in recovery! She also faces the possibility of losing her job if she can't get approval for medical leave.

On top of medical and daily living expenses, Brenda and Frank are also worried about losing their only mode of transportation. They are still making payments on their truck, which is vital for getting to medical appointments and taking care of day-to-day needs.

The Goal:

This fundraiser is set at $6,500 to cover roughly 90 days of living expenses — rent, utilities, groceries, truck payments, and medical-related costs. Meeting this goal will give Brenda the breathing room to focus on her recovery without the fear of losing her home or transportation. We just need to help get her through the healing process!
