My name is Brenda, and I’ve worked at the front counter of Dunkin Donuts for 18 years. I’ve always taken pride in showing up for my community and my team, but right now I’m facing a situation I can’t manage alone. Last month, I became seriously ill and was unable to work for most of September. Without my regular paychecks, my finances quickly spiraled, and I ended up with a negative balance in my checking account. Since returning to work, the bank has taken my paychecks to cover the overdraft, leaving me unable to catch up on my car payments.
My car is my only way to get to work, to doctor’s appointments, to the laundromat, and to shop for groceries. My job is 13 miles from home, and without my car, I would lose my ability to support myself and manage my health. I’ve been able to get some help from my church with essentials, but now my car is at risk of being repossessed on October 28th if I can’t pay the arrears. I’m reaching out for help because I want to keep working and stay on my feet, but I can’t do it without my car.
Any support will go directly toward saving my car and making sure I can keep my job and take care of my health. Thank you for reading my story and for any help you can give.
