Help Brenda Overcome Stage IV Cancer
Hello family and friends,
Thank you so much for coming to this page. We (Chad & Brenda) are reaching out to our beloved community asking for financial support to help with treatment that is urgently needed for Brenda.
A recent PET scan revealed that Brenda now has stage IV cancer. She has a large tumor on her sternum that is spreading. The scan is showing that the cancer has moved into her ribs, chest wall, and is now present in her lungs with numerous lesions.
She’s been in a lot of pain and is having difficulty sleeping and is short of breath at times. It’s been an emotional roller coaster and we are feeling how critical this situation is.
As you can imagine, figuring out the right course of treatment can be exhausting. So many doctors say different things and offer different treatment plans. Even as healthcare practitioners ourselves it’s hard to know who to trust. On top of that, some of the best treatments that have the most positive outcomes aren’t typically covered by insurance.
After consulting with a number of doctors, and feeling into what is right for Brenda, we’ve decided to work with Dr. Nezami at The Pacific/Orange Coast Medical Center of Hope in Newport Beach, CA. Dr. Nezami’s protocols and success rates are unparalleled. He offers a unique integrative approach that targets cancer epigenetics, cancer metabolism, cancer oxidative potentials, cancer stem cells and the immune system. You can learn more about his cutting edge treatments here .
In making this decision we considered not only survival rates… but also what path gives Brenda the best chance of living a long and healthy life. We feel strongly that working with Dr. Nezami is the right path for Brenda.
Brenda did initial blood work this past Tuesday (11/2) at Dr. Nezami’s clinic in California. We both returned home back in Austin on Wednesday (11/3). Brenda will then fly back to CA the following week to begin her treatment plan. Chad and their sweet pup, Maya, will be driving out as well so we can all be together. We’ll be staying in Newport Beach anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on how things go.
We know the initial cost of the treatment will be around $50k… but we also know that there will be many ongoing costs as time goes on. Many tests, scans, medications, supplements, and more treatments will be needed. There’s also a lot of travel and boarding costs we’ll need to cover. This will be something we'll likely be moving through for many years so any extra funds are appreciated.
Some of you may know that this is Brenda’s second cancer diagnosis. It’s been an ongoing journey with lots of ups and downs.
In 2016 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was quite a shock to hear that at such a young age. The year that followed was very challenging. We moved to San Antonio for 8 weeks to get treatment and also again to Irvine, CA for 10 weeks for more treatment. Both of the clinics we worked with at the time were more on the alternative side. Unfortunately, the cancer didn’t go away with the treatment and Brenda made the tough (but needed) decision to get a mastectomy.
In total that first year we spent well over $100k of our own money. In order to pay for everything we were forced into selling our home and moved into our parent’s condo. It was a very humbling experience that we never expected to have to go through.
With this recurrence of cancer (now at stage IV) we are asking for your help. We know it’s not something we can do on our own given the large financial hits and ongoing costs.
Your donation is greatly appreciated and means so much to our family!
We also appreciate you sharing this GoFundMe page on your social media pages, groups, and communities. We’re trying to reach as many people as possible to help cover the needed funds.
And… if you have prayers and positive loving/healing vibes for Brenda….we welcome and appreciate those as well. Throughout this journey we are learning more and more about asking for help and receiving. We are open to and deeply grateful for any and all support. We are in complete trust that God will provide the exact amount of funds that we need at exactly the right time, and trust God to guide and hold us on this journey.
(final words from Chad talking here)....
Thank you so much for supporting my queen, my wife, my soulmate, and my best friend. She means everything to me. She is such a special woman with so much light inside of her. She still has so much to still offer this world!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
From the bottom of my heart…. THANK YOU!
I will keep everyone updated as time goes on.
Much love,
Chad
