Help Brenda Millette get a vehicle

Hello to everyone that is taking the time to read through this! If you have decided to take the time to read this, you know that I am Sara Millette. I have decided to make this fundraiser to help my Mother. My Mother has recently been going through some things and is battling cancer. It started in her stomach about a year ago; after a full Hysterectomy, the tumor was found to have spread to her uterine lining. Since then, it has unfortunately spread to several of her Lymph Nodes. The Doctors have found that these Lymph Nodes are too close to her Aorta to remove them. With that being said, she has decided to go ahead and do as the doctors recommend and start Chemo and Radiation to shrink these tumors and hopefully prevent any more spreading. My Mom and I have certainly had our ups and downs. But ultimately, we do share a very strong bond, and I would do anything for her. My Mom has suffered bipolar depression and mental illness for most of her adult life and all of my life. But that certainly never stopped her from always providing for me and my brother and sister, and a few other kids as well. Growing up my mom was in many different foster homes when she was not living in a car with my Nannie, because her mother was severely Schizophrenic and an alcoholic. Despite her upbringing and her daily struggle with mental illness, my mother still got up every damn day and busted her ass so that we could all have what we wanted and needed. She worked for Harvard Pilgrim for over 20 years and was making more money than most men back in the 90's. She truly is a 'boss' and has always shown me what it means to take care of Myself. It has been tough since this has started, where I live 3 hours away and can't afford to miss work a whole lot to bring her to her appointments and be with her so that she is not alone. She receives her social security, which takes care of her rent and all that. She works a few days a week at Dunkins in Carver for a little more extra money and just to keep her busy. With her Chemo and Radiation starting very soon, she will most likely not be working at dunks any longer, or for a while at least. This past year has been tough on her for obvious reasons. I want to give credit where it's due here; I am so proud of how well she has been doing, making sure that she makes it to all of these appointments, and doing it without a vehicle. With her depression and living alone in her apartment, it would be easy for her to blow these appointments off and stay in bed. But she IS and ALWAYS has been one of the strongest women that I know. It has been silently killing me watching her go through this from up here in New Hampshire. I have recently been putting some money away so that I can take a couple of weeks off from work to be there for her the best way that I can.
To sum all of this up nicely, I hope to raise even half of this money to get My Mother into a reliable vehicle to get her to and from her appointments. I know from being her daughter, that the fact that she has made it to all of her appointments this far and has done it with no vehicle and in the cold, that she is afraid for her life here. I have been trying to do what I can to make ALL of this easier for her and less scary and stressful. Where I will take a few weeks off very soon to be there with her, I am not able to use all of my savings on getting her into a car. But it would mean the world to me to be able to help her get a car to make her life a little easier. Its enough of a struggle for her to get up and make herself go to these appointments, to then have to worry about how she is going to get there. Thanks for reading this, and if anyone is in a position to help out, thank you, again.
Much Love,
Sara Millette
