On the morning of Friday, August 22, our dear friend and coworker Brenda was on her way to work using her electric scooter — her daily commute — when she was struck by a car. The impact threw her to the ground, causing serious injuries including multiple lacerations, a skull fracture, and a minor brain bleed. She was rushed to the hospital and now faces a long and difficult road to recovery.

Brenda is only 29 years old, originally from Mexico, and came to Canada with her boyfriend, Tut, to build a better life together. With no family here to support her, she relies on the kindness of her friends, community, and coworkers during this devastating time.

Between the cost of rehabilitation and the basic living expenses she cannot cover while she heals, Brenda is in urgent need of support. We are asking for help to raise $5,000 to ease her financial burden so she can focus fully on healing and regaining her strength.

Brenda is a bright, hardworking, and kind soul who has touched the lives of everyone who knows her. We believe that with the right care, time, and support, she will recover and continue pursuing her dreams here in Canada.
