Brenda is a disabled combat Army veteran who served our country from July 4, 1986, to July 4, 1994. She is a dear friend who has always shown resilience and strength, but in recent years, she has faced overwhelming medical challenges. Brenda has suffered seven strokes and a mild heart attack in 2024, leaving her unable to work and living on a fixed income. Some of her strokes were linked to complications from VA-mandated COVID shots, and others have resulted in a condition called proprioception, which affects the dominant right side of her body. Despite her determination, these health issues have made daily life incredibly difficult.

Originally from Michigan, Brenda moved to Tennessee 12 years ago, where she found a supportive community and quality medical care. In May 2025, she returned to Ann Arbor, Michigan, hoping for even better care in her home state. Unfortunately, the VA in Ann Arbor has not provided the rehabilitation she needs to regain her strength and independence. The lack of support has made it clear that Brenda's best chance for recovery and well-being is to return to Tennessee, where her friends and neighbors are ready to help her once again.
