Cardiologist called last night. Must return to Cleveland this week, they will call us with appts as he is working to get appts for mri heart and other specialty appts together. MRI is to rule out sarcoidosis of heart. If it is sarcoid, surgery is not an option and may have poor outlook. If not they will start new med and possible open heart surgery to remove part of his septal wall to restore adequate blood flow out of left ventricle of heart.
Brenda and Bill have started their 15+ hour journey back to Ohio. There will be test run Monday. We are hoping they will help reveal what is going on and a plan can be made to help Bill feel better! Please pray for safe travels & answers!
As some of you already know, my mom, Brenda Stone, and stepdad, Bill Stone, have suffered from extended illness and endured great medical cost in recent months. My stepdad had to have an aortic aneurysm surgery at the Cleveland Clinic the first of February. As a result, my mom had to take off work for a couple of months on FMLA to care for him. Due to her own cancer diagnosis and multiple surgeries, she did not have any paid time off. Once she returned to work for three days in May, her mom fell and broke her shoulder. Being the only living child, my mom again had to take off from work to care for her mom. She again returned to work approximately 3-4 weeks ago. On June 13th she took my stepdad back to the Cleveland Clinic for a follow up appointment. He was admitted the same day for severe shortness of breath with exertion. He has been in the hospital for a week now, and they continue to run tests and perform procedures to determine the cause of his symptoms. The hotel and meal expense is adding to their already stressed financial situation. Both have dedicated their lives to helping others. Any donation is greatly appreciated along with much needed prayers!
Update 6/21
From Brenda:
Doctor said stress echo was normal but had one vein that was narrowed in his chest. However the test that will tell if he has what he thinks he has cannot be done until July 3rd because that doctor is out of country. He thinks he has something called preload insufficiency. I’ve never heard of it but he said that if that’s it he would need iv fluids every week and treatment of the underlying cause.
This means they will come back to GA this weekend, then return to Ohio for the next appointment on 7/3! Please pray for safe travels and for Bill to get rest! Thank you all!! Please continue to pray!
