Hi, my name is Bree. I am a single mother to four amazing children: Riley, Mackenzie, Landon, and Joe. I have put this fundraiser together because my family is in need of some serious help.

One week ago, we had to move back to Texas after 2 years of being in California. This decision was made rather quickly but was necessary. Long story short, I decided to hire a "moving company" to help transport our belongings to Texas. Everything started off great, and I honestly was relieved to have found a company that offered us a reasonable quote. This company came and loaded all our belongings and informed me that it was going to be a little more than expected. I was already emotional and just ready to be done with all of this, so I agreed. It wasn't until after they left that I was told that it was going to be ALMOST 3 TIMES the original amount we had been quoted. I have gone back and forth as to if I trust them to send them the money (if I could even come up with it this quickly) and hope they don't take off with the money and our belongings. I have been looking into as much information as I can with DOT and other agencies, and while I know they have absolutely not followed multiple rules and regulations and a complaint will be filed, it still doesn't help the fact that we need our stuff.

My kids start a new school next week and all I have is two or three days' worth of clothes for each of us. We literally are here with NOTHING. This has been a huge change as it is, and my children not having their favorite toys, beds, books, artwork, etc., has made things even more difficult. I did not want to have to take this route, and I honestly was pretty sure I was just going to let it go. I have had a hard enough time trying to do this all on my own (moving plus four children is not cheap), but I can't just give up. My babies have been put through enough, and they deserve to have their things back. We might not have a lot, but the stuff we do have matters to us. Please help if you can. No amount is too small. I spoke to the company this morning, and they will have our stuff here within 3 days once I make this payment: $1497 plus $500 when they arrive to drop off our stuff.

I do understand this is not okay what they did, and I understand what I need to do to make sure they are held responsible for this, but that is going to take time. Time is not on our side right now when we truly have nothing at this point. Only what we could fit in my car, which was very little.
